Q1 Do I have to believe in this type of healing for it to work?
A No.
I do healing with animals and children, who neither have the ability to believe or disbelieve, and it works the same. In
adults though, the factor of the mind can play a helpful or non-helpful role. The best state of mind to have is open-minded and scientific as if doing an experiment to see what will happen.
Q2 What will I feel during a healing?
A Well, sometimes you may feel nothing. If you feel out of touch, stressed, sick, in shock, or just very new to energy healing, you may not feel anything. But that does not mean it is not doing anything, just that you are not feeling it.
These are some of the things that people feel. However, the list is as varied as there are individuals:
-tingling - sensations of warmth and cold - muscle twitches and jerks - falling asleep - peaceful
-strong unexpected emotion - calm - relaxed - energized like you had a good night's sleep
Q3 Can I talk during the healing?
A This flows naturally. Sometimes it is more healing to talk and other times it is more healing to be silent.
Generally when you are silent, you can feel the healing more than when you are talking. However, talking can bring a deeper understanding of what you are experiencing and initiate change on a more conscious level. It is really up to the needs and wish of a client as to whether they want to talk or not.
Q4 Can I be sure that what I talk about will be kept confidential?
A Yes.
This is a cornerstone of safety and trust in a healing relationship, to know that what you talk about will not leave the room.
Q5 How many treatments will I need and how close together?
A This really depends upon the person and the condition being treated. Some conditions need only one treatment and others require more. Doing treatments closer together can allow you to build on the healing before the momentum is lost. On the other hand, it can take some time to integrate a treatment, and if they are done too close together it may stir up more than can be easily digested.
At the end of a session I can test how much time it will take to integrate and what timing is best for another session. This gives a guidline, but I always listen to the choice and will of the client.
Q6 Is there any danger or harm in opening oneself to energy healing?
A There is nothing that can really be done during a healing that is against your will. However, avoid going to someone where you are coerced, manipulated, or otherwise made to feel that the element of choice is taken away from you. That is a "salesperson", not a "healer".
The first tenet of "esoteric healing" according to Alice Bailey is harmlessness.
Incidentally it is also the motto of modern medicine, to do no harm.
A good practitioner needs to be committed to harmlessness in thought, word, and deed, first of all to be effective, but also not to create anything negative. Pay attention to your gut level and whether you feel safe, in the presence of whomever you chose to go to, for healing.
